Baking!

i've always loved baking. back when we were still kids, my mom would bake delicious treats and would often ask for our help.. we'd make breads, doughnuts, cakes, etc. i even have a photo of my siblings and i making doughnuts.. it was so much fun! it was a time for us to bond, at the same time, an opportunity to create something with our hands.
just recently, i discovered that i also love to cook. i enjoy cooking for other people. it's just not that fun cooking only for myself. lol. one reason is that i only eat a little.. and no, i'm not on a diet. it's just how i am. i think my stomach isn't large enough to accommodate more than a plateful of food. lol. i used to cook everyday and experiment with ingredients (that was when a lot of people are still here.. like my brother, my sister's fiance, and my niece). however, one by one, they all left leaving me and just cooper (my dog) at home. that's when i barely cooked. except when i've nothing to feed to cooper. then i cook just for him. :)

i also discovered that i love baking more than cooking. lol. baking cakes to be specific.. i know, it's more difficult and requires you to be more precise with the measurements and all.. in spite of these, i still enjoy baking more than cooking. maybe it's the challenge that i love.. lol. i love cake decorating best.. and working with fondants.. it's one way i'm able to express my creativity. i find so much fulfillment with every cake that i make.. the long hours and late nights seem insignificant compared to the feeling of seeing your work of art, finished.. it's a labor of love.. my labor of love symbolized by a cake; iced and decorated.

i'd like to share some of my works here.. i learned from books, the internet and some friends. and i'm still learning until today. someday, i hope to have the opportunity to enhance my skills by taking formal lessons. for now, the internet would have to do. hehe

i'll be sharing some recipes in here too.. so do come back once in a while..
thanks!
